Fellisco Keeling

Storyteller

Born in Charlottesville, Virginia in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Fellisco grew up listening to the folks telling their tales around the kitchen table and on the front porch. After earning a degree in vocal music education and teaching elementary school, Baltimore’s Enoch Pratt Free Library gave her a platform to tell stories.

She has told stories throughout the United States and traveled to Ghana, West Africa, Scotland, England, Paris, France, Canada, Nova Scotia, Greece, Prague, Vienna, Italy, and Egypt.

She hosted a storytelling show ‘Flying Fables’ on television, often guest hosted Morgan radio’s Griot Show has been seen on the internet, conducts storytelling workshops and performs at festivals, museums, schools, colleges, churches, businesses and celebrations, weddings, birthdays, and reunions, etc.

She is a retired children’s services librarian, a life member of the National Association of Black Storytellers, and The Griots’ Circle of Maryland, a member of Keepers Of The Culture (KOTC) based in Philadelphia. Fellisco belongs to St. Bartholomew’s Church, is married to Willis, has three sons, one daughter-in-law and one granddaughter.
